glock 19 or 26

Glock 19 Or 26 - As the world's leading gun manufacturer, Glock prides itself on not only setting the standard in handgun manufacturing, but also raising it. Market leaders who do not seek to improve their products or build on their proverbial superiority are market leaders who will inevitably regress. Glock has proven time and time again that it's not content with just remaking its guns – it wants to improve them to offer gun lovers the best range of guns with each new release. That's how they managed to assume and maintain leadership in weapons production. While the Glock 19 and Glock 26 differed in many ways, both sought to raise the bar in gun crafting even further, and in typical Glock fashion, both managed to do just that. Here is our Glock 19 vs Glock 26 comparison and review!

Little Sisters of the Glock 17 Both the Glock 19 and the Glock 26 are later guns that followed successful predecessors but were not created in the same way or with the same intent. The Glock 19 was released in the late 1980s and was considered the successor to the legendary Glock 17, although the only real difference between the two firearms is that the Glock 19 is a more compact version of the Glock 17. Peripherally, there are a few others. random differences between the two guns, but the Glock 19 was designed to be marketed and marketed as a smaller version of the Glock 17. The Glock 26, on the other hand, was released in the mid-1990s and was intended to be a smaller version of the Glock 19. In addition to a smaller frame, the Glock 26 differs from the Glock 19 in more ways than just size - the 26 uses a two-finger pistol grip and a shorter barrel. and slide, and a dual magazine with a standard 10-round capacity - all very different from what's offered in the Glock 19 (read our Glock 19 review for an in-depth look at this mighty pistol!) 12/15/17/19/33 WEIGHT (unloaded ounces) 21.16 19.75 Pros and Cons of the Glock 19 and 26 The Pros of the Glock 19 and Glock 26 Are Highly Customizable Many of the factors in gun ownership, and these two in particular weapons in particular are linked to subjective preferences with regard to perceived "superiority". For example, the Glock 19 was produced as a more compact version of the Glock 17, and that's exactly what it is. For the time, the Glock 19 stood out for the compact size of the pistol, which made it an ideal choice for concealed transport. However, the Glock 26 came along and introduced an even more impressive size difference between it and the Glock 19 than what existed between the Glock 19 and the Glock 17. This can be compared to the evolution of smartphone screen sizes - originally screen sizes. they were in the 3 to 4 inch range and anything larger was considered excessive. Today, the latest phablets have made 4-inch screens very small, proving that standards, tastes and preferences really do change over time. The Glock 26 with its smaller form factor is a more ideal concealed carry option, however the Glock 19 is a good middle ground between the modern compact and the “full size” version. The Glock 19 uses a larger view radius, which is good for accuracy, as well as a longer barrel compared to the Glock 26. Additionally, the Glock 19 benefits from more support in terms of mods and accessories. any Glock pistol and has a larger standard magazine size, which is inherently advantageous. The Glock 19 also features a handy picatinny accessory rail, while the Glock 26 has a distinctive notch on the front of the slide that makes holstering the pistol easier. With an extended magazine, the Glock 26 can essentially “become” a Glock 19, producing roughly the same size pistol that carries the same amount of ammunition. A Glock 19 can never “become” a Glock 26 – it cannot go down in size. Cons of the Glock 19 and Glock 26 Super Compact As if it bears repeating, what gun owners don't like or want in their firearms is largely subjective. Gun owners come in all shapes and sizes with different qualities they look for when they go “gun shopping”. The Glock 26's limited ammo capacity is one of the only objective downsides to one of these weapons - nobody wants a smaller magazine, but that's the price the Glock 26 pays in exchange for its extremely compact form factor. As far as sizing goes, whether or not a smaller size is a "pro" again depends on the user of each weapon. The smartest thing for a potential buyer to do is go to a firearms booth and try out both guns to see which one will be more comfortable to use and shoot. Some people will be more comfortable with a larger handle, while some people with smaller hands will prefer a smaller handle. That's why the Glock 26 has become popular among female shooters. When it comes to concealed carry, some find the Glock 19 to hide it well, while others prefer the Glock 26's even smaller form factor - again, your results may vary. Conclusion There is a reason why the Glock manufactures and sells many different types of guns and not just one “universal” pistol. Yes, money can be made selling different types of guns, but the truth is, not all gun owners are the same – in fact, they can vary greatly. Depending on needs and preferences regarding size, ammo, concealed carry and more, some may prefer the Glock 19 and some may prefer the Glock 26. Any potential Glock owner would do well to try out each of these weapons. for yourself before making any purchase decisions - the best way to find out which weapon you prefer is to try them both. Leave a Reply Click here to cancel reply Comment I recently received an email from a reader asking me to write an article on the Glock 19 vs 26 for concealed carry. I'm a fan of the Glock 9mm in just about every configuration, but if I could only have one it would be the 19. It really is a gun that does it all. I can't statistically show a difference in performance over 20 yards (vs. 17 yards) on the stopwatch. I can manage about 275-280 on the FBI Bulleye Course with 19 single digits. do with a tuned 1911 on the same drill. The 19 is large enough to fit the role of a full-sized service pistol, yet small enough to fit under a T-shirt in a Raven Eidolon holster. Given my philosophy of using the biggest gun with the biggest capacity I can practically carry under these circumstances, the Glock 19 fits the bill 99% of the time. How about 26?

Until 43, the 26 was the smallest 9mm in the Glock line. It was and still is a popular choice for a backup pistol because it is quite small and can accept the shells of its larger siblings. It's a little thick because it's short, and most people can only hold two fingers. That said, it's quite manageable and fits well in the ankle wrap. In fact, in situations where I have to tuck my shirt in (like weddings or other formal events), I prefer the G26 or ankle J-frame.

So how do you decide which one to use. First, consider your environment. Can you wear about 19 on your waist? Will the extra majority of 19 make you miserable all day?

With 26 compared to 19? If you can't figure it out, it's time to get the range right. I would recommend comparing 3, 5, 7, and 10 yard splits. Also compare transit times from target to target and shoot some groups at 25 yards with reasonable time pressure and factor in the differences.
