Tempers flared on the field as the final seconds ticked off the clock, but cooler heads seemed to prevail -- all the way to the tunnel, where several reporters heading to postgame news conferences captured video of what appeared to be about 10 Michigan State players surrounding a Player from Michigan. with some spartan landing kicks and punches.

That Michigan player looked like linebacker Ja'Den McBurroughs, who was on the ground among several Michigan State players. When the player who looked like McBurroughs got up, Michigan State linebacker Itaivion Brown grabbed him and threw him through an open door at the end of the tunnel. A Michigan State Police officer took Brown's jersey to return it.
At least two other Michigan State players, safety Angelo Groce and defensive end Zion Young, were seen by a Detroit News reporter hitting what appeared to be McBurroughs.
Shortly after, both coaches, Michigan State's Mel Tucker and Michigan's Jim Harbaugh, appeared to tell their players to get to their locker rooms.
Harbaugh called the argument after the game "10 on one," with the 10 being Michigan State. He said there was another Michigan player who was "attacked." Michigan has not identified any of its players, but Harbaugh said one player may have a broken nose.

A source close to the team identified the two players to The Detroit News as McBurrows and cornerback Jemon Green, though it was unclear who might have a broken nose.
Manuel addressed the media and said Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren, who was in attendance Saturday night, will also investigate the altercation. The two campus police departments have launched a joint investigation, Michigan State Police Deputy Chief Melissa Overton confirmed to The Detroit News.
Officers from the Michigan Campus Police Department, Michigan State Police and the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department were among the agencies working at Michigan Stadium on Saturday.
"What happened after the match is completely unacceptable," Manuel said. "That's not the way we should interact after a game. That's not the way another team should take a player and do what he did. It's completely and utterly unacceptable.
Three Eastern Michigan Football Players Face Assault Charges
The university's two presidents, Michigan State's Samuel L. Stanley and Michigan's Santa J. Ono, made statements on Sunday morning. Stanley said he was "saddened" by the incident, for which there was "no provocation to justify the behavior we see in the videos". Ohno said he spoke with Stanley and said Stanley personally apologized for the behavior of the Michigan State players.
Michigan State athletic director Alan Haller did not respond to requests for comment from The News after the game, but released a statement Sunday morning.
"I have made contact with Commissioner Warren," Haller said in the statement. "We will cooperate with the conference office and other efforts to gather more information."
"We know it was a hot game. Things got heated," he said. “(We're) trying to get our guys in the locker room. We'll find out what happened.
Michigan Football Players, Media React On Twitter To Msu Tunnel Assault
Several Michigan and Michigan State players were asked about the altercation during postgame press conferences, and all declined to comment, saying they had not seen the video that quickly lit up social media.
Manuel, Warren and Haller were seen together talking to the police after all the players moved to the locker room. Warren did not immediately return a phone call and text message from The News seeking comment, but the Big Ten said in a statement that it is being "thoroughly" investigated and "will take the appropriate response."
Several Michigan players took to Twitter to comment on the incident. Receiver Darius Clemons wrote: “You had 60 minutes to get your hands on someone with zero consequences. See you next year.” Roman Wilson, another UM receiver, tweeted: “Is this what we do?
As the game clock wound down in a game dominated by Michigan for the final three quarters, Michigan's players began to celebrate their first series victory since 2019, with several plays to open the Paul Bunyan Trophy and combine it with corn pants. But dozens of other players from both teams exchanged heated words on the field. There didn't appear to be any punching or pushing on the field before he changed into the tunnel.

It is the second time this season there has been a heated incident in the Michigan Stadium tunnel, which both teams use to leave the field before the visiting team turns left and Michigan turns right. On Oct. 15, Penn State coach James Franklin had a conversation with the security when his players got into a fight with Michigan players at halftime. The next week, Franklin called the Michigan Tunnel a "trouble"; Harbaugh calls Franklin "the head of the incident." There were heated conversations in the tunnel during last year's Michigan-Ohio State game and before the Michigan-Ohio State game in 2013. Neither of those incidents were physical.
