Michigan Football Moving Forward From Msu Tunnel Altercation

"Two of our players were assaulted," Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters. "I saw a video, it's 10 to 1. Too bad. I'll let our athletic director, Ward Manuel, talk to the authorities about it."

Manuel spoke with Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren and local officials after the game.

"What happened after the game was completely unacceptable," Manuel said. "I spoke to the commissioner and he's investigating. The police are also investigating. We'll leave it up to them, but it's not like we're communicating after the game. It's not like the other team shouldn't be doing that. catch them and do what they did to them. It's completely and utterly unacceptable. We'll let the Big Ten and law enforcement handle it, but it's not something the competition should be. That's how not that we should remember."

Harbaugh said one player suffered a nose injury as a result of the altercation, but did not name anyone. Michigan State coach Mel Tucker released a statement Sunday morning after saying Saturday night that he still wasn't sure what happened.

Jim Harbaugh: Two Michigan Players 'assaulted' By Michigan State In Tunnel

It's the second tunnel fight for Michigan in as many games. During halftime of a 41-17 win over Penn State, players from both teams got into a heated argument that led to a lengthy media spat between Harbaugh and Penn State coach James Franklin.

"Y'all need to get in their locker room," Harbaugh told reporters Monday. "Like, you could clearly see they were completely shut down. They wouldn't let us go in the tunnel. And they seemed to keep us out of the locker rooms."

Michigan Stadium, which opened in 1927, has only one exit from the field to both locker rooms. Usually, the visiting team enters the tunnel first, followed by Michigan. During Saturday's scrimmage, the unidentified Michigan player was seen in the tunnel while the rest of his teammates were still celebrating on the field.

"There really should be a policy where the first team that goes in has a buffer," Franklin said after the initial attack. "If not, this team starts talking to that team, mouths start going back and forth, and something bad happens." 3 hours ago Yes, we're getting another Scream movie, and no, Sidney Prescott in the
